From Hauenstein to the world
Josef Seibel began in Hauenstein, Germany, in 1886. Five generations have shaped its development into an international footwear brand.

Generations of history
1886
The first generation
Brothers Carl-August and Anton Seibel established C A Seibel in Hauenstein, starting with a punching machine in their family barn.
1914–1945
Through challenging times
Josef Seibel guided the business through war and economic hardship, later handing it to his son, Josef junior.
1950s–1960s
The third generation
Under Josef junior, production expanded and the collection became sportier.
1983–1993
The fourth generation
A later Carl-August Seibel joined in 1983, taking sole management in 1993 and expanding internationally.
2008
Spirit of Nature
The Spirit of Nature collection launched.
2019
The fifth generation
Franziska Seibel joined the management team.
